Helambu Trekking starts with a short drive to the northeast of Kathmandu valley, where a climbing lead through a nice cool forest and riverside around beautiful Sundarijal means a place with beautiful water and falls. As walk progress heading into the deep forest of rhododendron and pines to reach the scenic hilltop Chisapani famous for early morning sunrise views over an array of Himalayan range that covers as far towards Annapurna, Manaslu with Ganesh, Langtang, and Jugal Himal. After Thade-Patti enters into Helambu area on the downhill to Melamchi-Gaon and up at Tarke-Ghyang to our main destination of the adventure, explore around this wonderful village with houses carved with intricate Tibetan art design, visit its old monastery of great interest. Enjoying marvelous time around Tarke-Ghyang and Sermathang where the walk ends with the interesting drive back to Kathmandu, after a great scenic and cultural experience on Helambu Trekking.

Seasons for Helambu Trekking:

April to May and from September to December months, best time April to May, when most of the day are clear for views and walks especially morning till midday, cold in the morning and nights and on shade can expect snow sometimes around higher elevation from 2,000 m onward. April to May hills are alive with wild-flowers in the season where rhododendron flowers in the full bloom of different species from trees to bushes (national flower of Nepal Rhododendron).

October to December another best time for treks with fine clear for views and walks nearly most of the days, pleasant temperatures during day time but with much colder morning and night times with chances of snow sometimes.

Itinerary

On reaching Kathmandu international airport where you will be received by Heaven Nature Trek staff and guide, then transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city around Thamel.Thamel the an interesting and exciting area of the city, after checking into your rooms, then join at the lobby for group briefing provides you with trekking and other necessary information. Group Welcome Dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese Restaurant to soak in with local culture, where folk musical program entertains you along with dinner.

Morning after breakfast leave the hotel following our city guide that takes you around great interesting places with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Helambu Trekking starts with short drive towards north east of Kathmandu valley rim to reach at Sundarijal a small farm town, from here climb start into farm villages past waterfalls then reach entrance of Shivapuri National Park. As walk leads into forest and past scattered farm villages to reach at Chisapani, located on a high ridge North of Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani with cool fresh air at an altitude above 2,300 m high offering super views of snowcapped mountain ranges of Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Lang tang Himal extending towards Jugal Himal including Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani enjoy stunning sunrise and sunset views.

After scenic views of sunrise over chain of Himalayan peaks, second day starts downhill to Pati Bhanjyang a farm village, populated with Hindu Brahman and Chettries, from here climb for an hour and then on winding path into forest to reach Gul-Bhanjyang village for refreshing stop or lunch break. From here route leads to climb with short descend to Chipplin village, walk past farm villages with views of rolling green hills and snowcapped peaks till walk reach at Kutumsang for overnight stop. Kutumsang a farm village with mixed hill people Sherpa-Hyalmo and Tamang ethnic tribes also offers grand views of snowcapped mountains, afternoon free at leisure to explore this small lovely village and its scenic surrounding.

From Kutumsang, morning climb to cross over Yurin Danda a ridge and into serene forest of rhododendron, pines and oak trees, as walk take you to a small pass at 3,510 meter high, and then with short descent into cool forest area to reach an open wide area. After some rest a short climb as our route diverts from the main trail joining Langtang and Gosainkund area with Helambu, from here walk to high Thade-Pati the highest point of the adventure. Enjoying rest for short while at Thadepatti then descend towards Malemche-Gaon within Helambu area, downhill walk lead through rhododendron and pine forest to reach the base of a hill around grassy field, from here walking into farm fields to Malemche-Gaon village of Hyalmo with some Sherpa, and Tamang people with same Buddhism religion and culture.

Morning walk from Malemche leads to main village of Helambu at Tarke Ghyang, as route leads downhill to Melamchi River within small farm village, cross a river over suspension bridge, where leads you at Tarke-Ghyang village after walking past Nakote village for lunch and overnight stop. Tarke-Ghyang, famous for Buddhist culture, wood carving and delicious green apples also, afternoon free to explore this lovely village and the old monastery of Ama Yangri situated on top of the village.

Morning after leaving this nice village walk downhill through cool forested path passing many chorten (Buddhist prayer monuments), summer meadows to reach Gangyul a small village, then following the path with wonderful views of rolling hills to reach at Shermathang for overnight stop, another lovely Hyalmo village here with time to visit another old interesting monastery.

After wonderful time around Helambu within pristine nature, a short walk for few hours walk then take a drive downhill to Melamche bazaar where journey continues to Kathmandu,. Few hours of pleasant drive reaches Kathmandu after a wonderful time around high eastern hills of Himalaya.

Last day in Nepal enjoying exciting and fabulous times with great experience on Nepal Central Himalaya around Langtang Himal, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where Nature Heaven staff and guide transfer you for your flight homeward bound or to respective countries.
